Weekend Study Tour Diary: Discovering Lingnan Flavors, Wrapping Up Cantonese Warmth

The weekend sunshine was just right as a group of "little chefs," each wearing bright yellow hats, stepped into Shunyu Food's doors with curiosity, kicking off an exciting educational journey into Lingnan culinary culture.

As soon as we entered the event venue, the slogans "Attitude" and "Teamwork" on the wall revealed the company's thoughtful attention to detail.

The mentor smiled as she introduced: "The dumplings we're making today also perfectly capture the essence of Lingnan flavors!"

Washing hands, putting on sleeves, tying aprons—little ones have transformed into “mini pastry chefs,” meticulously preparing themselves as if they were the real deal.

The scene of the parent-and-child duo was especially heartwarming.

Mom carefully guided her child step by step in folding the pleats, while the bamboo steamer quietly waited—seeming almost to have already warmed up for the heartwarming scene of a Lingnan family coming together to lovingly prepare their traditional snacks.

The moment the dumplings were steamed to perfection, their fragrant aroma—mingled with the lively, earthy essence of Lingnan cuisine—immediately enveloped everyone. The children carefully picked up the dumplings with bamboo skewers, savoring each bite as if they were treasured shrimp dumplings.



“It turns out the dumplings I made myself are so good! "Eat!" A little boy nodded as he ate, his eyes brimming with a sense of accomplishment.

At the event's conclusion, everyone also visited the Shunyu Food exhibition area, marveling at the beautifully packaged Lingnan pastries displayed in the refrigerated showcases—and listening to the fascinating stories behind them. Through this experience, the children gained a more tangible understanding of "inheritance"—just like these dumplings, which must be lovingly handmade and savored by each new generation, ensuring that the rich flavors of their culture never fade away.
